Dispatch Coordinator / Customer Representative

The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and organised Dispatch Coordinator / Customer Representative to join our team.

This is a busy role that combines dispatch coordination, customer service, communication, and administration. The successful candidate will help ensure daily operations run smoothly while providing professional and friendly service to customers and drivers.

Ritchies Transport is one of New Zealand’s largest privately owned transport operators, providing bus and coach services across the country. Founded in 1935, the company has grown from a small family-run business into a major player in public transport, school bus services, and charter travel.

Ritchies operates urban bus networks in several regions, including Auckland, Queenstown, and Dunedin, as well as offering long-distance coach services and tourism transport. Known for its focus on safety, reliability, and customer service, the company plays a key role in connecting communities and supporting both daily commuters and the tourism industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch and transport activities
• Communicate with drivers and customers throughout the day
• Allocate jobs and monitor vehicle movements
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email, and in person
• Manage bookings, schedules, and changes
• Keep customers informed about delays or changes
• Resolve customer and operational issues quickly and professionally
• Maintain accurate records and dispatch information
• Liaise with internal teams, drivers, and external stakeholders
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and safety requirements are followed
• Assist with general administration and other operational duties as required

What you offer

 Bonus: Previous experience in a transport or logistics environment will be an advantage, but full training will be provided to the right person.
