Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out general cleaning duties, to the required standard and in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Perform general cleaning duties to the required standard and in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Use cleaning materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Move furniture as needed on occasion.
  • Clean, stock, and supply designated facility areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning ceiling vents and restrooms.
  • Conduct and document routine inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Execute heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of fixtures and fittings as required.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Aware of Health & Safety regarding the use of chemicals and safe methods of working.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations regarding the use of chemicals and safe working methods.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively as part of a team. 
  • Capability to perform manual tasks, including carrying heavy bundles of linen and operating heavy floor cleaning machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Willingness to undertake training courses and meet required standards.
  • Flexibility with working hours, especially during peak service hours.
  • Proven experience as a cleaner.
  • Proficient in handling heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous restaurant dishwashing experience preferred 
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Have a valid food safety handler and sanitation certification in accordance with state and local regulations or obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.


Special Demands: 

  • The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.
  • Capability to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
  • Required to stand for long periods, up to 8+ hours, as well as walk, bend and stoop.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. 
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals
