About this role

Overview

Director, Product Management for value-based payments is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing, developing, and executing the product strategy for the business. This role typically involves a combination of strategic thinking, team leadership, and hands-on involvement in product development and lifecycle management.

 

In this role, using subject matter expertise and market insights, you will support the current solution/product offerings and will be instrumental in guiding the development of new product offerings, delivering value with existing customers, and driving revenue opportunities. You will work with current clients as well as sales prospects to advance product innovation and growth in value-based care contracting and performance with payers and providers. The successful candidate will have experience working with or in a health plan, devising and implementing various value-based care contracting models with providers.

 

You will be leading a team of product managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support and collaborate with cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, sales personnel, and customer managers to ensure effective solution design, development, and delivery. This role will be responsible for collaborating with sales and marketing to enable effective product commercialization.

 

Overall, the Director of Product Management plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of a company's products, ensuring they align with market needs and contribute to the overall success of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy: Developing and articulating a clear product strategy aligned with the overall business goals. This involves understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Working with corporate marketing to assess competition and lead product roadmaps and launch to provid3differentiated value in the market.
  • Team Leadership: Managing and leading a team of product managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Ensuring that the team is motivated, aligned with company objectives, and delivering on product roadmaps.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support to ensure a unified approach to product development and delivery. Effective communication and alignment across these functions are critical. Utilize AI tools effectively to accelerate innovation via collaboration.
  • Roadmap Planning: Creating and managing product roadmaps that align with the company's strategic objectives. Prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Market Analysis: Staying informed about market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies. Conducting market research to identify opportunities and threats, and using this information to inform product decisions.
  • Financial Management: Managing the financial aspects of the product management function, including budgeting, resource allocation, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure product success.
  • Product Development: Providing oversight and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle. Using AI tools to enable product discovery, prototyping, and accelerated development in an AIDLC. Ensuring that products are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Customer Focus: Advocating for the customer and ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations. Gathering customer feedback and using it to drive product improvements.
  • Innovation: Encouraging a culture of innovation within the product team. Exploring new ideas and technologies that can contribute to the company's competitive advantage.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks related to product development and launch. Proactively addressing challenges and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize AI for product development.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, engineering, computer science, etc.).
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or related roles.
  • 5+ years experience working in a health plan environment devising and contracting value-based care contracting models.
  • Experience in leadership and managerial positions, preferably as a Senior Product Manager or similar.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market.
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively in an AI development life cycle for product concept, development, and launch.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, including ideation, design, development, testing, and launch.
  • Ability to think strategically and align product initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Understanding of AI applications in healthcare.
  • Experience in developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to different stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to advocate for the customer in product decision-making.
  • Understanding of how product decisions impact the financial performance of the business.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks associated with product development and launch.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $165,000 to $215,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration
