About this role

Titan is a leading national electrical contractor with locations in Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Titan maintains a strong reputation as a leading high-quality, customer-centric service provider which has resulted in strong financial growth since its inception in 2006. As a result, the company has become a trusted partner to its customers and suppliers and has established a proven track record of year-over-year growth. The company has significant opportunities to further penetrate its existing markets and expand into other geographies and service lines. Most Electrical Contractors Need More Than an Estimator. They need someone who can see around corners. Someone who can build strategy before the job hits the field. Someone who can identify risk before it becomes a change order. Someone who can win work, build teams, mentor estimators, influence operations, and help drive profitable growth. That's this role. We're looking for a Director of Preconstruction to lead our estimating and preconstruction efforts across commercial, industrial, mission-critical, healthcare, manufacturing, and large-scale electrical projects. This is not a "head-down estimator" position. This is a seat at the leadership table. You'll help determine what work we pursue, how we pursue it, and how we position ourselves to win. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead the Preconstruction Team Build, mentor, and develop estimators and preconstruction professionals Establish estimating standards, processes, and best practices Review major bids before submission Create consistency across all regional estimating efforts Help grow the next generation of preconstruction leaders Own the Bid Strategy Evaluate opportunities and determine pursuit strategy Develop winning approaches for negotiated, design-assist, design-build, and hard-bid projects Identify project risks, gaps, and value-engineering opportunities Partner with operations to ensure estimates align with real-world execution Drive Revenue Growth Support business development efforts with key clients and partners Participate in contractor, owner, architect, and engineer meetings Strengthen relationships with general contractors and strategic customers Help position the company for long-term growth in target markets Build Accurate, Competitive Estimates Oversee budgeting, conceptual estimating, GMP development, and final bid submissions Validate labor assumptions, productivity factors, material pricing, and subcontractor scopes Ensure estimates are complete, defensible, and profitable Review market conditions and cost trends affecting project outcomes Partner with Operations Lead turnover meetings with project teams Ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to execution Capture lessons learned from completed projects Continuously improve estimating accuracy What Success Looks Like After your first year: The estimating team is stronger than when you arrived. Win rates have improved. Margins are healthier. Project turnover is smoother. Operations trusts the numbers. Clients trust your expertise. Leadership looks to you for strategic direction. Most importantly, the company is winning the right workβ€”not just more work. What You Bring Required 10+ years in electrical construction estimating, preconstruction, or project management Proven experience leading large commercial electrical bids Experience managing estimating or preconstruction teams Deep knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and project delivery models Strong understanding of labor productivity, budgets, schedules, and risk analysis Ability to lead high-level client conversations Excellent communication and leadership skills Preferred Experience with data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, mission-critical, or large commercial projects Design-build and design-assist experience Accubid, ConEst, Trimble, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar estimating platforms Electrical field experience as a Journeyman, Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field This Job Is Probably Not For You If... You prefer working independently without collaboration You don't enjoy mentoring others You avoid customer interaction You struggle making decisions with incomplete information You want to stay in the details instead of helping shape company strategy Why People Join Us Because they want a bigger seat at the table. You'll work alongside executive leadership, operations, business development, and project teams to help shape the future of the company. This role has a direct impact on revenue, growth, customer relationships, and long-term success. Your decisions matter here. Compensation & Benefits We believe exceptional leaders create exceptional results. Benefits may include: Competitive base salary Annual performance bonus Long-term incentive opportunities Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays and PTO Professional development opportunities Executive-level growth path The Bottom Line If you've built estimating teams, won large electrical projects, understand risk, and know how to connect strategy with execution, we want to talk. We're looking for someone who can help us win smarter, build stronger partnerships, and create a preconstruction organization that becomes a competitive advantage. Not just a department. A difference-maker. Apply Today When you apply, tell us: The largest electrical project you've estimated The size of the estimating team you've led Your experience with design-build and negotiated work What separates a great Preconstruction leader from an average one
