Job Description

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Contributing Member of the Hotel Leadership team
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Leaders and Colleagues alike, and create an environment that allows Leaders & Colleagues to exceed guest expectations and provide a path for career development with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
• Direct and lead the day-to-day Spa operation ensuring all standards are followed
• Develop hotel wide wellness initiatives that target both group and transient segments
• Understanding of spa industry trends, pricing strategies, and financial management. 
• Develop the Fairmont Austin Wellness membership program
• Prepare annual budgets for all departments within the Spa; ensuring productivity and expense controls are followed to maximize revenue opportunities
• Ensures brand (inc. Loyalty & LQA), Forbes Travel Guide, and service standards are in place, maintained, embraced, audited, improved upon and celebrated.
• Active participant and leader for all Spa/Wellness Capital & Renovation projects.
• Promote and sell customized Spa programs to conference groups and individuals to drive revenue
• Work with Hotel Sales and Marketing departments on revenue optimization and marketing
• Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including location, product offering, pricing, promotion and sales techniques
• Drives retail product sales through demos, hotel activations in partnership with vendors
• Develop relationships with vendors to not only maximize sales but allow for hotel wide activations for our guests
• Create and lead the implementation of 12-month marketing plan
• Submit monthly report requirements; including business reports and treatment audits
• Ensure team members are familiar with all areas of the Spa operations, including product knowledge and retail sales
• Assist in the recruitment, development and training of all leaders and support staff
• Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Previous leadership experience within the Spa/Wellness field preferred
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferred
• Experience in the Hotel industry an asset
• Experience and certification in one of the Spa disciplines of fitness or therapy preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous
