Position Overview N-Power Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Director, Contracts & Legal Operations reporting to the VP, Operations. The Director, Contracts & Legal Operations will play a key role in managing the company’s contractual relationships, ensuring that contracts are executed efficiently, comply with applicable laws, and mitigate risks. The Director, Contracts & Legal Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiating to managing and enforcing contracts. This is a key non-lawyer role that supports the efficient operation of our legal function by managing contracts, streamlining workflows, and coordinating legal processes. The ideal candidate has experience in contract administration, knowledge of healthcare compliance, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners. This is a hybrid on-site role; Bay Area is required. Role Objectives and Responsibilities ● Manage the full contract lifecycle, including intake, drafting, negotiation, coordination, approval workflows, signature, and storage. ● Maintain and improve our contract management process, ensuring accurate tracking of key terms, expirations, and renewals. ● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop templates aligned to the company’s strategy and facilitate timely contract execution. Serve as the primary contact for contract-related matters and escalate legal questions to legal counsel, as appropriate. ● Maintain relationships with our contracted third parties (such as vendors, customers, network partners) and serve as the primary contact for contract- related matters. ● Coordinate legal operations including document management, legal spend tracking, and vendor onboarding in collaboration with Finance and the Security, Privacy, Quality, and Privacy team. ● Monitor contracts and facilitate close-out, extension, or renewal as necessary. ● Resolve contract-related issues with external parties and internal stakeholders. ● Communicate contract-related information to stakeholders. ● Support compliance and governance initiatives by ensuring contract templates and processes align with company policies. ● Prepare reports and metrics on contract volume, turnaround time, and legal team performance. ● Organize and support internal review committees (e.g., compliance, ethics, policy), including meeting logistics, documentation, and follow-up actions. ● Support the implementation of legal technology tools (e.g., contract management repository). Education, Experience, Behavioral Competencies, & Skills ● 5+ years of experience in legal operations, contract management, procurement, or a related field in the healthcare industry. ● Strong understanding of contract processes and standard contract terms. ● Experience with contract lifecycle management tools. ● Excellent organizational and project management skills. ● Proficiency in negotiation and relationship management. ● Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making. ● Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ● Certification in contract management or a relevant field is a plus. ● Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. ● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. ● Bachelor’s degree in business, paralegal studies, or a related field preferred. Travel Requirements ● Ability to travel may be required from time to time Pay Information The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. N-Power Medicine (NPM) offers equity at hire as well as a discretionary annual bonus which may be available based on Company performance.
