Short Description

This position will serve as a key resource to Executive Leadership.

Responsible for, and in collaboration with Cooper University Health Care leadership, the clinical competency and quality of care provided by physicians, non-physician clinicians including independent providers (APPs), nursing staff and medical assistants in clinical practice in the ambulatory and acute care settings. 

Both directly and in collaboration with other service line leadership will ensure Institutes provide seamless, efficient and cost effective delivery of the highest quality of care across the care continuum by developing tools to improve the quality of patient care and serving as an agent of change.

Accountable for all quality measures including monitoring data and managing information and outcomes relating to the Women’s & Chidren’s and Adult Health Institute Primary Care/Behavioral Health as well as for the development and execution of quality and safety initiatives across the Institutes in both the hospital and ambulatory settings.

Responsible for clinical practice in the ambulatory and inpatient setting in collaboration with the Directors of Outpatient Operations and Inpatient Clinical Directors of Operations.

Oversees all clinical and quality related issues and personnel in the ambulatory and inpatient setting for the Institute.

Co-chair of Process Improvement and Patient Safety committees within institutes.

Oversees and partners with Ambulatory Operations and Deptartments of Patient Care to assure compliance of clinical standards set forth by TJC, CMS, LeapFrog, AHRQ, Perinatal and Children’s standards, pay for performance and all publicly reported data including HCAPS in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. 

Responsible for, and in collaboration with CUHC healthcare leadership, the clinical competency and quality of care provided by physicians, non-physician clinicians, nursing staff and medical assistants in the ambulatory and acute care settings.  In coordination with Institute leadership responds to data on physician, patient and employee satisfaction, and develops appropriate action plans in response to suboptimal scores.

 

Experience Required

5 years clinical experience in the acute care setting or outpatient setting, preference in Labor & Delivery and/or OBGYN

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing; or Master of Medical Science in health related field.

License/Certification Requirements

NJ RN License BLS, ACLS preferred

Special Requirements

Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical practice and organizational systems.

Working knowledge and understanding of information systems, quality reporting and databases used to measure outcomes.

Ability to formulate and operationalize process improvements based on sound data to drive positive outcomes.

Superior problem solving skills with a high level of personal accountability.

Working knowledge of TJC requirements, JC Perinatal and Children’s Core Measures, LeapFrog, AHRQ measures, and all public reporting.

Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster consensus and engagement of various individuals or groups.

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing both at the individual and group level, ability to prepare executive level summaries
