Job Description

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems, focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact projects with tangible financial results.


VCA Tech Advisory and Implementation Services is a critical component of our VCA strategy, providing our clients with the advisory and execution muscle they require to deliver and implement strategic projects. VIS brings the ‘best of Visa’ to the clients, playing the role of orchestration layer between client teams and Visa subject matter experts (SMEs). As clients confront increased challenges in their operating environment whilst also facing capacity constraints and capability gaps, this team helps to drive implementation or delivery of their strategic initiatives, facilitating significant and tangible value creation.


What A Technology Consulting Director does at Visa:

You will be responsible for shaping and leading transformational client engagements, guiding multidisciplinary teams as they partner with clients to reimagine payment capabilities. This role focuses on enabling emerging business models, digital products, and streamlined processes, leveraging Visa products & offerings, while identifying and addressing any adoption barriers to deliver meaningful client impact.


Key activities are to:

  • Serve as a thought leader and transformation lead, shaping and program-managing large, complex, and high-impact client engagements with one or more delivery teams, ensuring effective execution and adoption of Visa products, platforms, and solutions at the client side
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise across Visa products and solutions, with a strong understanding of the broader strategic context, client priorities, market trends, and revenue objectives
  • Act as a functional and technical champion within Visa, advocating for the client’s needs while aligning recommendations with Visa’s product strategy, delivery capabilities, and commercial goals
  • Partner with Business, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and external vendors to define project requirements, align stakeholders, track progress, and build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Work closely with UI/UX experts, Solution Architects, and Visa product teams to assess solution options, navigate competing product development priorities and backlogs, and effectively manage client expectations
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to card products - including debit, credit, and prepaid, as well as commercial money movement solutions, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and project plans
  • Identify, assess, and address adoption barriers, including process, technology, operational, and stakeholder challenges, to ensure successful client implementation and measurable business impact
  • Promote and increase the use of generative AI to optimize daily work deliverables, improve delivery efficiency, and share knowledge, tools, and best practices across teams
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage project documentation, including project plans, status reports, RAID logs, governance materials, and executive updates
  • Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and key decisions, escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution and sustained delivery momentum
  • Manage testing, defect resolution, client sign-off, and product enablement for delivered products, features, enhancements, or capabilities
  • Ensure all project activities comply with internal governance standards, controls, risk requirements, and delivery methodologies

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications


  • 10-12 years of experience in consulting background driving large-scale complex programs with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, MD)
  • Expertise in Visa / Mastercard payment products, preferably with experience managing financial and payment system implementations
  • Ability to analyze data sets to identify insights, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams that delivered on product requirements, design, development, implementations, testing, training, and support
  • Exposure to real world AI use cases in financial services, with an ability to translate opportunities to AI requirements
  • Ability to learn new products and systems with minimal training
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, along with project milestones, risks and dependencies
  • Experience in SDLC processes and tools
  • Understanding and working experience with Agile, Scrum delivery models to support Agile ceremonies
  • Ability to manage customer expectations and negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to simplify and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical executives, sales teams, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to inspire, influence and lead high performing cross-functional teams who can envision and create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our global clients, leading large teams where there is not a direct reporting line
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP, Scrum Agile certification) is a plus

What will also help:

  • Deep Understanding of the web technology stack & Supporting Technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, etc.) and service deployment.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud).
  • Hold comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard security protocols such as Open ID Connect, OAuth2, SAML, JWT JOSE, JWKS, emphasizing their application in secure and reliable payment processing.
  • Solid experience in enterprise application integration including APIs, Web Services (SOAP/RESTful), Micro Services, Containerization (Open Shift Containers, Kubernetes etc.)
