What is an Enhanced Acuity Technician?

The Enhanced Acuity Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties, such as, natural environment training, skills-based treatment, data collection, and intensive intervention services. The Enhanced Acuity Technician is responsible for providing direct support to individuals who reside at Damar Services. They also assist the treatment team, including the Manager, Supervisor, and Director and other members as designated, in the evaluation of clinical services.

What would I be doing?

Some duties include client supervision and care, crisis management, promoting appropriate social behaviors, and supporting clients in achieving their maximum potential.

Where would I work with clients?

For this particular role, you would work on our Richmond campus located at 2000 Wernle Rd Richmond, IN 47374

What are the hours?

• Day shift  (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM w/ weekend rotation)
• Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM w/ weekend rotation)

• Demonstrates confidence when making decisions in the moment regarding Skills Based Treatment• Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner• Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned• Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as recommended by the Enhanced Acuity leadership team• Provides direct services to children• Provides support to clients in completing programming goals, ADLs and independent living goals• Operates Damar vehicles and/or personal vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties• Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client• Serves as a member of Damar Services’ interdisciplinary team

What you need to be considered:

• Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program
• Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.

The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.

Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
