Context:

The Absheron Conventional Gas & Condensates field is located offshore Azerbaijan Republic in the Caspian Sea in 500 meters depth, at about 100km southeast of Baku, 25km north-east of Shah Deniz field and 34km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities. The project aims at supplying natural gas for both domestic market via Sangachal main facilities (condensate) and for international export market via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).

The Service Holder will be actively involved in the Onshore Package current activities up to the Final Investment Decision (FID) and will subsequently contribute to the execution phase. During the EPSCC execution, the Service Holder will be responsible for overseeing Contractors’ performance, ensuring that deliverables including the input for Digital Twin (QUANTUM), and work, within her or his scope are submitted on time and within budget.

Job Description

What is the job about? 

  • The service holder will be assigned and involved in the ABSHERON EPSCC Project and will have full responsibility for the DIGITAL scope, including the management of all related Contractors for the Onshore Central Process Facility (CPF).
  • Service holder shall strictly adhere to the Company Code of Conduct, Vision, Values and Behaviors, and comply with the Safe System of Working demonstrating full accountability of Safety at all times.
  • Service holder shall ensure Digital development and solutions are delivered with a robust, coherent and traceable DIGITAL definition, ensuring that all development and deployments are fit to purpose and suitable for safe operation objectives. All deliverables and work shall fully comply with the requirements of Absheron Onshore Package, including all interfacing scopes.
  • The Service Holder shall ensure that all assigned DIGITAL project activities are effectively planned, executed, and controlled in accordance with the Project Execution Plan, contractual obligations, and applicable standards, including but not limited to:
  • Timely, efficient, and high-quality review of DIGITAL documentation, proactive identification of potential deviations or derogations to standards, and constructive challenge of the design to achieve an optimized, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose solution and execution of work at Site.
  • Active participation in and contribution to project reviews, technical studies, workshops, and meetings related to DIGITAL, in accordance with project milestones and gate requirements.
  • Early identification of technical risks, execution risks, and scope variations within the DIGITAL scope, including performance of impact assessments and provision of clear, structured recommendations to the Onshore Package Technical Manager to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensuring the availability, competency, and high performance of the DIGITAL team, in close coordination with the Onshore Package Technical Manager, to meet project objectives and execution delivery commitments.

 

Your day-to-day activities:

  • Acts as the digital referent for the EPSCC project and serves as the single point of contact for all digital topics, interfacing with Digital Officers and key stakeholders within TotalEnergies, including the project team, EP, DSO, IT, R&D, the Digital Factory, and the Digital Champions network, as well as with external parties such as EPSCC contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Ensures alignment of the EPSCC project with the Group, EP, and DSO digital strategies, organizations, and roadmaps, while adapting them to project-specific objectives, constraints, and execution phases.
  • Identifies, consolidates, and tracks digital initiatives relevant to the project, leveraging feedback from subsidiaries, other major projects, Customer Lines, and industry benchmarks.
  • Ensures effective communication and sharing of digital best practices within the project team and with affiliates through dedicated communications, workshops, newsletters, and project reviews.
  • Contributes to the definition of digital requirements and technical specifications for EPSCC-related scope, supports tendering and contractual phases, and may supervise external consultants or digital solution providers.
  • Supports and participates in major digital events, including project milestones, technical seminars, supplier workshops, and industry forums.
  • Drives digital culture and change management within the project by animating digital communications on project collaboration tools and platforms and by organizing training, awareness, and information sessions for project teams.
  • Contributes to the definition, deployment, and continuous update of the project digital roadmap, ensuring consistency and integration with EP, DSO, and Group digital roadmaps.
  • Participates in the establishment and enforcement of digital governance for the project, ensuring clear roles, structured processes, and effective collaboration with the Digital Factory and IT functions.
  • Coordinates contributions to the catalog from solution owners within the Group, and ensures it is maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle in line with technological advances and project evolution.
  • Acts as the Information Management Officer for the project ensuring the implementation of Information Management rules related to governance, compliance, and best practices across the project scope.
  • Actively participates in the TotalEnergies Head Office network and ensures alignment of the project with corporate Information Management standards.
  • Perform daily monitoring of DIGITAL activities to ensure full compliance with TotalEnergies HSE policies, project specifications, schedules, and applicable standards.
  • Actively promote a strong HSE culture within the DIGITAL team and among Contractors.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and HSE coordination meetings
  • Ensure that DIGITAL engineering solutions fully incorporate HSE requirements, including functional safety, alarm management, and safe‑by‑design principles.
  • Review, track, and close actions arising from HSE studies and reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, CHAZOP, constructability, and operational safety reviews.
  • Review and respond to DIGITAL technical queries, engineering clarifications, and deviation requests from EPC Contractors, Vendors, and Consultants, ensuring HSE compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Coordinate with Package Manager and other disciplines to manage DIGITAL technical interfaces and resolve technical or safety‑related impacts.
  • Review DIGITAL design documents and system architecture to ensure compliance with DIGITAL TWIN and QUANTUM requirements.
  • Monitor DIGITAL engineering progress against agreed execution plans, identify technical, schedule, and HSE risks, and define corrective actions.
  • Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings to address DIGITAL technical, safety, and progress matters.
  • Provide day‑to‑day DIGITAL support
  • Monitor DIGITAL maturity and readiness in preparation for upcoming gates, audits, and project reviews.
  • Support assessment of DIGITAL scope changes and ensure no adverse impact on safety, regulatory compliance, or operational integrity.
  • Coordinate daily workload within the DIGITAL team, ensuring adequate competency coverage and escalating technical, or resource concerns to the Technical Manager.
  • Strictly comply with, enforce, and promote all applicable TotalEnergies procedures, instructions, and rules at all times.

What about your future team? 

Reporting directly to the Onshore Engineering Manager within Onshore Package organization, the role may also involve multiple international missions or relocations to support and monitor engineering development with Onshore Package Contractors. The position requires close coordination with Engineering and Site Coordinators to manage DIGITAL interfaces across disciplines, packages, and TotalEnergies stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in Digital, Data, IT, or Digital Transformation roles within Oil & Gas/Energy projects.
  • Experience as Product Owner/Product Manager for digital, data, analytics, or AI solutions.
  • Experience on large EPC/EPSCC industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital Twin, Information Management, and Digital Governance.
  • Proven stakeholder management across engineering, IT, operations, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of HSE-driven project environments.
  • Fluent English and ability to work in an international setting.
