Manager, Platform Engineering (DevOps)

📍 Location: Hyderabad, India 🏢 Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Manager, Platform Engineering in Hyderabad to lead a team in our platform engineering organization. The group builds and runs the internal cloud lpatform that Hyland’s product teams deploy onto, covering workload hosting, environment provisioning, infrastructure automation, and the security and cost guardrails that come with it, across AWS and Azure.

You'll work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to establish cohesive Platform Engineering standards and drive measurable improvements in delivery speed, stability, and operational excellence. Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers, delivering platform capabilities and cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Provide regional engineering leadership and technical escalation, maintaining a reliable working overlap with colleagues in other time zones.
• Drive Kubernetes-based platform capabilities across AWS and Azure environments to ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure.
• Partner with product engineering and operations teams to improve developer experience and system reliability.
• Embed security and compliance guardrails into the platform, and bring cloud spend under active management.
• Lead people management activities including hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development, while championing a Platform Engineering culture and automation-first mindset across teams.

Role Essentials

• 5+ years leading teams delivering cloud platforms or large-scale automation, with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Production Kubernetes depth, including at least one significant migration or platform build-out led end to end.
• Experience operating a platform under security and compliance obligations such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
• Demonstrated accountability for cloud cost.
• Experience in a distributed engineering group across multiple time zones, including asynchronous collaboration and shared on-call.
• Strong hands-on fluency with infrastructure as code and cloud native services on AWS and Azure, enough to review your team's work credibly and make sound architectural decisions.
• Comfortable negotiating priorities and standards with peer managers, and with a remit that will be refined over time.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with working knowledge of Agile or Scrum and accountability for managing to a budget.
