Job Summary:

As a Design Engineer for Electric Power Division (EPD), you will direct and participate in the design and development of complex, major engineering product or process projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.


What you will do:

  • Work in the design and development of electrical components for diesel and gas gensets;
  • Support other engineers during product maintenance, development and testing;
  • Drive the resolution of complex product design defects and quality concerns for current production products;
  • Provide technical leadership in the assessment and disposition of engineering deviations impacting product performance, quality, and manufacturability;
  • Champion process improvement projects that deliver measurable business results and support global standardization efforts;
  • Own the maintenance and continuous improvement of engineering documentation, processes, and design guides;
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and enhance product reliability;
  • Communicate technical information and project status to senior management and other stakeholders;
  • Support NPI, NSI, PCI, and CPI programs, ensuring successful implementation and integration within manufacturing operations.

What you will have:

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.


Basic requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree and CREA registration;
  • Pre-advanced English;
  • Experience in NPI process;
  • Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills and technical leadership;
  • Must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Knowledge of the design and working of diesel and gas gensets;
  • Understanding of UL, CSA and IBC;
  • Experience using CREO and TeamCenter;
  • Design and product development experience;
  • Project management experience;
  • Post-graduation.

Note: This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
