Job Description

Egis Design Center Thailand (EDCT) provides engineering design services for Egis entities around the world within the BL Transportation.

We are seeking for a Depot Workshop Engineer to join our growing Design Center.

As part of the team, you will be involved in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of Depot Workshop facilities and equipment for various rail, metro and bus projects around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge transportation projects and contribute to the safety and efficiency of public transit systems from different countries.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Workshops Design
    1. Elaborate functional lay-out of the Depot based on the Operation plan and Maintenance schedule anticipated
    2. Ensure that the track lay-out meeting the trackwork design requirements.
  2. Workshop and Depot Equipment Management:
    1. Oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of depot workshop equipment (e.g., lifting jacks, bogie drop systems, wheel lathes, and testing rigs).
    2. Ensure workshop equipment meets regulatory and operational requirements.
    3. Develop preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for depot equipment.
  3. Rolling Stock Maintenance Support:
    1. Coordinate with rolling stock maintenance teams to ensure depot facilities support efficient maintenance workflows.
    2. Provide technical expertise on the repair and overhaul of rolling stock components in the workshop.
    3. Analyze maintenance data and recommend improvements to depot operations.

For all these activities, the Depot Workshop (DW) Engineer will:

  • Assist in the preliminary design (drawings, technical specification, interface sheet…) ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of Tender documents (definition of technical requirements, applicable Standards).
  • Prepare Minute of Meetings, technical reports, drawings, or other project documentation (presentation, benchmark, follow-up table…) in a qualitative and timely manner.
  • Review design documents from Depot Workshop Equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with Employer requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and updates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil, trackwork, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration with other rail systems.
  • Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment on-site, coordinating with contractors and Employer.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to Depot and transportation systems.
  • Interact with other sub-systems or entities for technical interface (Rolling Stock, Civil Work, Trackwork, Power Supply, …)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related industrial fields
    • Master's degree is a plus
    • 2-5 years of experience in rail systems, preferably in Depot Workshop or Rollingstock maintenance or Overhaul
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio or similar design tools is a plus
    • Basic understanding of railway systems operation, safety and relevant standards
    • Familiarity with project management processes in engineering consultancy environments
    • Fluency in English
    • Knowledge of rollingstock maintenance equipment or rollingstock maintenance.
    • Previous experience in managing FAT and FAIs of depot equipment or rollingstock
    • Previous experience in training the operation of depot equipment or rollingstock
    • Experiences in installation of Depot equipment.
    • Experience in make documents in Word and Excel.
    • Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and or Visio.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
