Job Summary –

A Application Automation & Support Engineer to manage a critical project for one of our biggest clients in banking domain. The Individual should be passionate about technology, experienced in developing and managing cutting edge technology applications.

Working Hours: UK Business Hours (including on-call support when required)

Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong software development skills who can help drive automation and continuous improvement across the Production Support function. The ideal candidate should be capable of developing tools, scripts, dashboards, and operational automations while also supporting business-critical applications during UK working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation solutions to eliminate manual support activities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain scripts, tools, dashboards, and integrations using technologies such as Java, Python, or .NET.
  • Support production applications, troubleshoot incidents, and assist with issue resolution.
  • Analyze application logs, monitoring data, and system performance to identify problems and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with support, development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Participate in UK business-hour support and on-call rotations as required.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve service reliability, monitoring, and operational processes.

Required Skills

  • 5-9 years of IT experience.
  • Strong hands-on development experience in Java, Python, or .NET.
  • Experience with scripting and automation.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Unix/Linux, and troubleshooting application issues.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a production support environment, including UK shift timings and on-call support.

Preferred

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and SRE practices.
  • Banking or Financial Services experience is an advantage.
