What You’ll Be Doing

 

Cadmus is looking for an analytical individual with strong critical thinking, research, technical, and communication skills who works well both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, comfortable working closely with clients and internal teams to find the right solution. They will have consulting experience, preferably in the energy industry, and a demonstrated ability to manage analytical tasks and projects from start to finish.

 

The successful candidate will apply advanced analytics to generate data-driven insights, quantify the impacts of intervention strategies, evaluate system and market dynamics, and provide strategic guidance to utility and government clients. They will support research, evaluation, and planning efforts across a broad range of demand-side management (DSM) topics, including demand response, virtual power plants, distributed energy resources, renewable energy integration, data center electricity demand, decarbonization, energy efficiency, flexible load management, sustainability, retail rate design, and related policy and equity considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research design, data collection, data analysis, modeling tool development, and reporting tasks in support of client consulting engagements
  • Apply statistical and econometric data analysis methods, synthesize and interpret results to assess program and policy impacts, and identify meaningful conclusions and recommendations
  • Clearly and professionally communicate methods, findings, data sources, and analytical results in technical reports, presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manage consulting projects, which may include:
    • Working collaboratively with project team members and clients to accomplish project goals
    • Providing clear and consistent communication
    • Managing project budgets, invoicing, project planning, staff and resource management
    • Ensuring all deliverables meet Cadmus quality standards, are error-free, on time, and exceed client expectations
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior staff
  • Nurture and build client relationships by providing proactive, clear, and consistent communication on project activities, status, findings, challenges, or concerns
  • Identify and develop business development opportunities to expand work with existing clients and advance new work by supporting or leading proposal development

Qualifications

  • MA/MS in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or other related quantitative fields with 6-8 years relevant professional experience, OR BA/BS in relevant field with 8-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with data transformation and statistical software programming in R, Python, or Stata
  • Demonstrated experience deploying interactive web apps and data visualizations with the use of R-Shiny (or other platforms, such as Flask, DASH, Power BI or Streamlit)
  • Experience with databases and SQL
  • Demonstrated experience with inferential statistics, specifically sampling and research design, statistical analysis, and regression analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Desire to grow professionally and take on challenging work assignments
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with or work experience in the energy sector and/or utility industry
  • Applied research design experience in professional setting (e.g., consulting)

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

 

Based on eligibility and job status, Cadmus offers an excellent benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) program, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance program, other optional benefits and various bonus programs.

 

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
