We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
AlphaGov is seeking a Data Governance Lead to develop a data-governance strategy and implementation plan for a state court system — covering data standards, stewardship, quality, interoperability, and actionable roadmaps for court IT leadership.
What you'll do:
- Assess current-state data practices, stewardship roles, and interoperability gaps across court systems
- Design a practical data-governance framework (policies, roles, standards, quality metrics)
- Produce an implementation plan with phased roadmap, ownership, and success measures
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops with IT, court operations, and business owners
- Contribute data-governance qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned
Required:
- Data-governance strategy and implementation experience (public-sector or large enterprise)
- Familiarity with data stewardship models, data-quality programs, and interoperability planning
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites
Nice to have:
- Judicial, justice, or court-system data experience
- Prior work with state-enterprise data standards or master-data programs
- DAMA-DMBOK / DCAM or comparable framework familiarity
