Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a secure, scalable hybrid data infrastructure for Spectrum. This role demands rigorous attention to security protocols, compliance requirements, and architectural excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and maintaining data infrastructure across on‑premises servers and cloud platforms, including Snowflake and Databricks
- Designing and implementing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL with strict performance and reliability standards
- Integrating data across legacy healthcare systems, Workday, Salesforce Health Cloud, and other enterprise applications with full accountability for data integrity
- Developing optimized data models for PowerBI reporting and analytics that meet organizational performance requirements
- Implementing Secure‑by‑Design principles, including encryption, access controls, and comprehensive auditing across all systems
- Ensuring strict compliance with PHIPA, PIPEDA, and internal governance requirements across all architectures and integrations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or a related field
- 4-8 years of experience in data engineering, hybrid infrastructure, and scalable pipeline development
- Strong skills in Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and both cloud and on‑premises environments
- Experience integrating data with PowerBI, including data modeling and performance tuning
- Proven ability to build secure API integrations, especially with Workday and Salesforce (REST/SOAP/Bulk APIs)
- Strong understanding of Secure‑by‑Design, zero‑trust principles, and secure data handling for AI
- Working knowledge of PHIPA, PIPEDA, and healthcare data privacy requirements
Assets:
- Experience with clinical or healthcare data systems such as EHRs
- Familiarity with Salesforce Health Cloud
- Experience supporting AI/LLM infrastructure (e.g., vLLM, Ollama)
