The Cycle Counter maintains inventory accuracy by performing scheduled cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, assisting with physical inventories, and ensuring that material movements and system transactions are recorded accurately. The position collaborates with Inventory Control and warehouse teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Audit work-in-process and finished-goods inventory to verify accurate labels, bin locations, quantities, and item descriptions.

2.

Help minimize obsolete inventory by maintaining inventory accuracy and coordinating the disposition of excess materials.

3.

Prepare reports that identify inventory discrepancies, summarize findings, and recommend corrective actions to the Inventory Control team.

4.

Conduct root-cause analyses to identify the causes of inventory discrepancies and the process areas requiring corrective action.

5.

Participate in corrective-action discussions and assist with implementing improved methods and procedures.

6.

Administer the cycle-count program in accordance with the schedule established by the Inventory Manager, and report results consistently to promote timely resolution of discrepancies.

7.

Promote the accurate use of handheld barcode scanners and support their implementation in additional inventory-control areas.

8.

Contribute to Lean initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, reduce inventory levels, and increase inventory turns.

9.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements on the warehouse floor.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

1.

Demonstrated computer proficiency, including accurate data entry, data analysis, inventory-system transactions, and working proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

2.

Proficiency in basic mathematics, including calculations related to inventory quantities, variances, and adjustments.

3.

Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees across departments.

4.

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines.

5.

At least three years of cycle-counting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

6.

Understanding of the financial impact of inventory adjustments.

7.

Current forklift and cherry-picker certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required training period, with demonstrated commitment to safe equipment operation.
