We’re looking for a native Mandarin-speaking Project Manager with Copywriting and Transcreation skills and flair for creative ideation and brand strategy to act as the key connector between the Greater China markets, local brand teams, and regional/offshore creative teams.
This is not just a coordination role. The market needs someone with a sharp local lens, strong brand instincts, and the confidence to advise on what good looks like – from cultural moments and seasonal campaigns to creative relevance and brand storytelling. It’s a great role for an Account Manager mindset: proactive, commercially aware, detail-led, and focused on momentum.
You’ll help local teams move work forward, surface obstacles, translate market needs clearly to offshore teams, and ensure the work lands with the right language, tone, cultural nuance, and consumer relevance.
About the Role
Market liaison, stakeholder management & project delivery
- Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact between Greater China market stakeholders and regional/offshore creative teams.
- Support local brand teams by helping them clarify needs, shape feedback, surface blockers, and move priorities forward.
- Translate market realities, stakeholder needs, and cultural nuance into clear creative direction by building a strong relationship between the local and offshore creative teams.
- Coordinate timelines, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables across local, regional, and offshore teams.
Briefing, copywriting, transcreation & creative quality control
- Interpret, translate, and transcreate briefs, feedback, and revisions between Mandarin- and English-speaking stakeholders.
- Support copy, messaging, campaign adaptation, and creative recommendations to ensure outputs feel natural, premium, culturally relevant, and high quality in Mandarin.
- Help turn global/regional direction into work that feels right for the local market across language nuance, cultural sensitivities, and local consumer relevance.
- Ensure work aligns with the brief, brand guidelines, local expectations, and market reality and provide constructive feedback that raises the quality and relevance of the final work.
Brand strategy, creative ideation & local insight
- Bring a strategic point of view to briefs, ideas, messaging, and creative adaptation while ensuring work aligns with the brand guidelines, local expectations, and market reality.
- Surfacing local market insights, cultural sensitivities, seasonal opportunities, and consumer behaviours.
- Advise what strong, market-relevant creative looks like for Greater China markets by helping offshore teams understand not just the language, but the cultural meaning behind the work.
- Support cultural and seasonal moments, such as gifting occasions, retail moments, and premium lifestyle activations.
About You
- You have strong experience with project managment in a creative, advertising, production, or integrated agency environment within a role that requires copywriting and transcreation skills, such as an account manager, client servicing manager or project manager.
- You bring proven project management experience, alongside the ability to keep workflows moving smoothly across local, regional, and offshore teams.
- You are native or fluent in Mandarin, with strong written and spoken English, and are comfortable working across both languages day to day.
- You have hands-on experience in copywriting, translation, and transcreation, and understand the difference between direct translation and adapting work so it lands in-market properly.
- You can interpret creative work with a strong local lens and provide clear, informed feedback on language, tone, cultural nuance, and consumer relevance.
- You bring strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, and know how to operate calmly in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.
- Experience in alcohol, FMCG, luxury, or premium consumer brands would be highly valuable, as would exposure to regional or global matrix organisations.
- Familiarity with creative production, content adaptation, localisation processes, and digital/social/integrated marketing channels would make you especially well-suited to this role.
