Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our dynamic team in Birmingham, United States. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the welcoming face of our organization, delivering exceptional service to our valued customers while maintaining a professional and organized sales environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow your retail expertise while making a meaningful impact on customer satisfaction and sales performance.

• Greet customers warmly and professionally, providing prompt assistance with inquiries and purchases
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process transactions, including credit cards and other payment methods
• Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions and identify their needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales counter area at all times
• Handle customer concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism, working toward effective resolutions
• Process cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash handling procedures
• Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management to ensure product availability
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive and supportive shopping environment
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations
• Identify sales opportunities and utilize effective techniques to meet sales goals and drive revenue
• Assist with warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, when needed
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to support team success

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of retail or customer service experience
• Demonstrated ability to process payments accurately and handle cash responsibly
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Strong mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing
• Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
• In-depth product knowledge or proven ability to quickly learn about product lines
• Demonstrated customer service excellence with a friendly, supportive, and empathetic attitude
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Solid computer skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Team player mentality with a collaborative and inclusive approach
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Inventory management experience
• Proven sales techniques and upselling ability
• Reliability, work ethic, and commitment to consistent attendance
• Flexibility and adaptability to schedule changes
• Willingness to pursue forklift certification (training provided)
