Primary Responsibilities
- Cover stories across tech, business, and finance in the startup ecosystem.
- Analyse data using sources such as DataLabs, MCA reports, RTIs, and secondary research.
- Pitch newsworthy ideas to editors and build strong industry networks.
- Enrich stories with data-driven value additions — infographics, analysis, or multimedia (audio, video, interviews).
- Deliver exclusive stories that set the agenda.
- Strengthen market presence by attending events and developing insider sources.
- Build a strong professional presence on social media.
Annual KRA
- Consistently publish data-backed stories with sharp insights.
- Drive exclusivity and originality in reporting.
- Add depth through innovative formats (charts, graphics, multimedia).
- Establish Inc42’s authority by cultivating high-value sources and event presence.
Professional Traits
- 3–5 years of experience in core journalism.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or an equivalent field.
- Strong fundamentals in reporting — nutgraf, lede, background, fact-checking.
- Ability to structure news and features quickly and effectively.
- Solid understanding of India’s startup and policy landscape to identify and pitch relevant stories.
- Excellent command of written English with clarity and impact.
