About this role

We're seeking someone to join as an Associate in Treasury to work on a number of regulatory and internal deliverables.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.

This is an Associate level position within the Treasury and Capital Planning job family, which is responsible for planning, managing, forecasting and optimizing capital, liquidity and funding resources; governance oversight of Treasury and Capital Planning; setting frameworks, policies and guidelines for appropriate management of these resources; managing regulatory deliverables and exams; managing CCAR/Capital Stress Testing process. What you'll do in the role:

- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm

- Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments

- Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work

- Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards

- As part of the Hong Kong treasury team, you will support the capital management of Morgan Stanley entities across Asia to ensure they meet regulatory and internal capital requirements

- Analyze capital implications resulting from business plans and activities, advising business units on optimal capital mix and return metrics

- Optimize capital adequacy in the region and partner with stakeholders across Asia, London and New York in the execution of capital transactions

- Assist in the production of the annual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (CAAP) for entities in the region and fulfill the regulatory submission requirements

- Keep abreast of new regulatory capital rules and evaluate potential impact to legal entities

- Liaise with groups across Corporate Treasury and around the Firm to support strategic initiatives including automation efforts and process enhancements

- Prepare and review capital related materials for senior management and key governance forums

What you'll bring to the role:

- In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment

- Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities

- Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes

- A strong sense of organization and time management skills

- Worked in a high-paced environment and used multi-tasking to your advantage

- Previous experience in financial services and Treasury

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional Asian languages a strong plus

- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with a global diverse team

- At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
