The role

The Control Systems / SCADA Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the systems and technologies used to monitor and operate Vector’s electricity network.

Over the course of a full-time, ten-week placement, you’ll build a strong foundation in SCADA, ADMS and network operations, progressing from observation and shadowing to applied project work. You’ll gain exposure to real-time network operations, data interpretation and control systems engineering, while supporting documentation, testing and work within live system environments.

Who are we looking for?

  • You’ll be in your third or final year of an Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree, with an interest in power systems, control systems and network operations
  • You’re curious, quick to learn and bring a positive, proactive attitude, with a willingness to take on feedback and build new skills
  • You have developing analytical and problem-solving skills, and enjoy understanding how complex systems work
  • You’re organised, manage your time effectively and can adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • You communicate well, listen and learn from others, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
