About this role

About Conversion

Conversion is the agentic marketing automation platform. MOps teams at enterprise SaaS companies rip out Marketo, Pardot, and HubSpot and run everything here instead: CRM and warehouse data unified into one layer, a full enterprise MAP built on top of it, and AI agents that do the repetitive work with approval-first governance. Campaigns ship in hours instead of weeks.

We raised a $28M Series A and sell into companies like Plaid, ClickHouse, Productboard, and People Data Labs. We're ~25 people in San Francisco, five days a week, with engineers, designers, and operators from Airbnb, Palantir, Pinterest, IMC, Shopify, LinkedIn, and Microsoft.

About the Role

Hey ๐Ÿ‘‹ Kyle here. I run product and growth at Conversion, and I'm hiring the person who owns content.

Some honesty about the audience first. We sell to marketers. They build campaigns for a living, they know every play in the book, and they can clock a keyword-stuffed blog post in about four seconds. Their feed is already full of slop. MOps directors and the managers under them are one of the most underserved audiences in B2B. Nobody writes for them. Nobody invites them to anything. The few companies that treat them like the smartest people in the building get remembered for it.

So the job is to make us the thing this audience reads on purpose. That means the category story (why every MOps team is sitting on a platform they resent, and why migrating stopped being terrifying), thought leadership under our founders' names and under yours, webinars and partner programming that put us in the rooms our buyers already live in, and the search surface, both Google and the AI answers quietly eating it.

One thing about how I evaluate this work, because it shapes who's happy here. Our sale runs three to six months and the average buyer group touches us around 55 times before anything closes. No single piece of content gets clean credit for a deal. You get judged on how well you run the channel against its ceiling, not on whether the channel pops in a given quarter. I'll take conviction, taste, and volume over someone waiting for a dashboard to tell them what to write next.

You'll work with me directly and our founders on POV and voice. You'll have material to work with: a product that wins better than 9 out of 10 head-to-head bake-offs, customers who will go on record, and an incumbent set that has been coasting for a decade.

This role is in-person 5 days/week in San Francisco.

What You'll Own

  • The category story. The argument for why enterprise MOps teams are leaving legacy platforms right now, made in enough formats and enough times that the market starts repeating it back to us.

  • Thought leadership and founder voice. Specific, opinionated writing for MOps directors and CMOs. Ghostwriting and owning brand on LinkedIn, and building a voice in the space.

  • Search and AI search. Own organic end to end. Rank for the high-intent queries, and get us cited in the answers people now get from ChatGPT and Claude instead of clicking through.

  • Webinars and partner programming. Topics, co-hosts, promotion, run-of-show, follow-up. The MOps community is small and tight, and the partners worth working with are already obvious to you or will be fast.

  • Distribution. Every piece ships with a plan for how it travels: email, LinkedIn, communities, sales enablement, paid when it earns it.

  • The bar. You set the quality standard for words at Conversion and hold everything to it, mine included.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

  • Write constantly and can send me a link that proves it, published work with a point of view attached

  • Have marketed to a technical or operational B2B audience that resists being marketed to

  • Switch registers cleanly between company voice, founder ghostwrite, and your own account

  • Have owned content or demand at an early-stage company, ideation through distribution through iteration

  • Know SEO well and are already paying attention to what AI search is doing to it

  • Like talking to customers, and can turn a 30-minute call into something worth publishing

  • Have opinions about B2B content, including strong ones about who's doing it badly

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have lived inside Marketo, Pardot, or HubSpot and felt the pain firsthand

  • Have run a webinar or partner content program you'd actually defend as good

  • Use AI to move fast without letting the output read like it

  • Can name B2B brands you admire that go past the three everyone names

  • Have built a category narrative before, or want the shot at building one from zero

  • Want to be in an office where the team eats lunch together!
