Description

Markon is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership and oversight for government construction projects. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on personnel and project-related matters while managing the day-to-day execution of construction and service contracts.

 

The successful candidate will oversee project schedules, contractor performance, design reviews, contract compliance, and customer coordination throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires extensive experience managing construction projects, developing technical solutions, supporting federal acquisition activities, and collaborating with government stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on personnel and project-related matters.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned project teams while coordinating workloads and project schedules.
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of construction and service projects from planning through project closeout.
  • Provide oversight of construction-related activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, project schedules, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Support the COR by performing project management functions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities with customers, contractors, architects, engineers, and other government stakeholders.
  • Review project schedules, design documents, specifications, and construction plans to ensure technical accuracy and constructability.
  • Develop solutions to construction challenges and unforeseen field conditions.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentation for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support the acquisition process by assisting the CO and COR with pre-award and post-award activities, including responding to offeror questions, participating in site visits, and attending contractor/government meetings.
  • Draft technical responses for change orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), and contract modifications.
  • Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and technical documentation for new contracts and contract modifications.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and risk while providing regular status updates to leadership and customers.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure timely completion of required reports and deliverables.
  • Foster strong working relationships with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience supporting government construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, project controls, scheduling, contract administration, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, contractors, and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.

Desired Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other recognized project management credential.

Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
