About this role

About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

Polymarket is building out its US Exchange operations, which includes standing up a registered Futures Commission Merchant. That means building a compliance program from the ground up, not inheriting a mature one. This is a foundational hire for the FCM, and the work you do in the first 90 days will define how we operate under CFTC and NFA oversight for years to come.

You'll support the CCO for the FCM and own the day-to-day compliance program. That means keeping our written supervisory procedures current, monitoring for regulatory developments, and being the internal expert who knows exactly where our program stands against CFTC and NFA requirements at any given moment. When regulators ask questions, you're the one who organizes the response.

This role is remote, but the work is high-stakes and fast-moving. If you've spent your career maintaining a compliance program someone else built, this probably isn't the right fit. If you've built one, or rebuilt one, and want to do it again at a company that actually matters in the market, keep reading.

What You'll Do

  • Build and own the FCM compliance program, including all written supervisory procedures across trading and operations, and keep them current as CFTC and NFA rules evolve.

  • Conduct ongoing gap analyses against CFTC and NFA requirements and bring issues to the CCO with clear recommendations, not just observations.

  • Draft, maintain, and update compliance policies and procedures as the business grows and regulatory requirements change.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NFA and CFTC inquiries, coordinating internal document production and ensuring responses are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

  • Monitor regulatory developments across the CFTC and NFA and translate changes into concrete updates to our program before they become problems.

  • Support the CCO on exam preparation, internal reporting, and any regulatory filings tied to FCM operations.

  • Work cross-functionally with trading, operations, and legal to make sure the compliance program reflects how the business actually works, not just how it looks on paper.

What We're Looking For

  • Direct compliance experience at a CFTC-registered FCM. You've worked inside one and know how the program runs end to end.

  • Deep, working knowledge of CFTC and NFA rules. You can cite the relevant regulations, explain why they apply, and identify gaps without needing to be prompted.

  • Proven experience drafting written supervisory procedures. Not editing someone else's templates but actually writing the procedures that govern how a firm operates.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls. The CCO needs a partner who surfaces problems with solutions, not someone who waits to be told what to do.

  • Clear, direct written communication. You'll be writing for regulators, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership. All three audiences need to understand what you produce.

  • (Plus) You've managed an NFA or CFTC examination or formal inquiry from start to finish and can walk through exactly how you organized the response and what the outcome was.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
