Description: CRG is seeking a Communications Lead to support the U.S. Department of State Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) program. The Communications Lead will develop and coordinate executive communications, stakeholder outreach, and program messaging that translate complex cybersecurity and supply chain risk information into clear, actionable content. This role works closely with government leadership, program management, and technical subject matter experts to communicate program priorities, support awareness initiatives, and promote consistent messaging across stakeholder groups. A major focus of this position is meticulous review of documents intended for senior officials, including the White House and Congress.

 

Job Duties

  • Lead detailed review and editing of documents, briefings, and correspondence intended for senior-level officials, including the White House and Congress. Verify factual accuracy, completeness, grammar, formatting, tone, and consistency, and coordinate required government review and approval before submission.
  • Lead communications planning and execution for the Department of State Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) program.
  • Develop executive briefings, talking points, presentations, program updates, and stakeholder communications for government leadership.
  • Translate complex cybersecurity and supply chain risk findings into clear, accurate, audience-appropriate messages.
  • Work with program leadership, analysts, and technical subject matter experts to communicate priorities, accomplishments, risks, and actions needed.
  • Develop communication plans, messaging, and outreach materials supporting new processes, tools, and program initiatives.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and working groups, including agendas, briefing materials, meeting summaries, and follow-up communications.
  • Maintain communication calendars, templates, and program content to ensure consistent messaging and timely delivery.
  • Support awareness and training efforts through newsletters, fact sheets, guidance materials, and presentations.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback and assess communication effectiveness to improve engagement and understanding.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in strategic communications, technical writing, executive communications, or stakeholder engagement, including experience supporting federal programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop polished executive presentations, briefing materials, and written products for senior leadership.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in high-visibility documents and explain technical topics to nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience developing communication plans and coordinating messaging across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work closely with cybersecurity, acquisition, supply chain, and program management professionals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and incorporate feedback from multiple reviewers.
  • Sound judgment when handling sensitive information and coordinating communications through established approval processes.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the Department of State or another federal cybersecurity program.
  • Familiarity with C-SCRM, third-party risk, vendor risk assessments, or federal acquisition processes.
  • Experience supporting change management, program modernization, or organizational awareness initiatives.
  • Experience developing visual communication products, including infographics and leadership reporting materials.


Salary Range: $130,000–$135,000 annually
