Pre-Action Fire Suppression Systems
- Verify installation of pre-action sprinkler systems as per approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing of piping networks.
- Test operation of:
- Deluge valves
- Pre-action valves
- Detection and releasing panels
- Solenoid valves
- Supervisory and pressure switches
- Verify sprinkler coverage, pipe supports, and system zoning.
- Test single-interlock and double-interlock pre-action systems.
- Simulate alarm and release sequences to validate system functionality.
- Coordinate with Fire Alarm System vendors for interface testing.
Gas Suppression Systems
- Commission clean agent systems such as:
- FM-200 (HFC-227ea)
- Novec 1230
- Inergen
- IG-541
- CO₂ systems (where applicable)
- Verify cylinder installation, pipework, nozzles, and discharge arrangements.
- Conduct enclosure integrity (door fan) tests where required.
- Verify operation of:
- Releasing control panels
- Manual release stations
- Abort switches
- Pressure switches
- Sounders and strobes
- Perform cause-and-effect testing for gas release sequences.
- Coordinate actual or simulated discharge testing as per project requirements.
- Ensure all safety interlocks and shutdown functions operate correctly.
Testing & Documentation
- Prepare commissioning checklists and test procedures.
- Record test results and maintain commissioning reports.
- Generate punch lists and monitor closure of commissioning observations.
- Prepare as-built documentation and handover packages.
- Provide customer training on system operation and maintenance.
- Support authority inspections and acceptance testing activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- NFPA 13
- NFPA 72
- NFPA 2001
- NFPA 12 (for CO₂ systems)
- FM Global requirements
- Local fire authority regulations
- Follow site safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments before testing and system activation activities.
