Role Overview
Café Kira is looking for a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team for the opening of our new concept. We are seeking an enthusiastic culinary professional with strong culinary fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining our high culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Complete daily mise en place accurately and efficiently, ensuring readiness for service.
- Follow standardized recipes, SOPs, and HACCP regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of kitchen equipment.
- Follow proper stock rotation procedures and minimize food waste.
- Support the culinary team during the pre-opening phase, including kitchen setup, recipe implementation, and training.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required, preferably within a premium restaurant, high-volume venue, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Good culinary fundamentals and knowledge
- of basic food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Basic knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen hygiene.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Previous pre-opening experience is an advantage.
