About the Role

We are seeking a driven Commercial & Property Associate who enjoys taking responsibility, working autonomously, and contributing to complex transactions and strategic client outcomes. This role offers exposure to a broad range of commercial, property, corporate and advisory matters, working with a diverse client base that includes family-owned businesses, private investors, developers, and corporate and institutional clients. You will have the opportunity to build on your existing areas of expertise while broadening your experience across a variety of commercial and property law matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and property matters from commencement through to completion with a high degree of autonomy.
• Advise clients on a broad range of commercial, corporate, property and development matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, leasing documents, transaction documents and other legal agreements.
• Assist with and lead property acquisitions, disposals, development projects, financing arrangements and corporate transactions.
• Liaise directly with clients, counterparties, consultants and other professional advisers to progress matters and achieve commercial outcomes.
• Identify legal and commercial risks, provide practical advice and develop solutions-focused strategies for clients.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Commercial & Property team through strong technical expertise, client service and collaboration.

Your Experience

• 3-5 years’ post-admission experience in commercial, property or related practice
• experience in at 1-2 areas of commercial practice, with a willingness to work across a broader range of matters
• the ability to run and progress matters with limited supervision;
• confidence dealing directly with clients, solicitors, consultants and other professional advisers;
• sound commercial judgment and an ability to identify and communicate key issues;
• strong drafting, analytical and research skills;
• excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines;
• a practical, solutions-focused approach to legal issues; and
• a genuine interest in developing a career within a broad commercial practice.

What Will Set You Apart?

• Experience with PEXA is preferred but not essential, training is available
