About the Team 

KPMG's Managed Services and Commercial Operations teams work closely with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support the successful delivery of complex engagements and long-term contracts. The team plays a critical role in ensuring strong commercial performance, effective financial management, governance and contractual compliance across the contract lifecycle.  

Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, the team partners with delivery, finance, procurement and client stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes, manage contractual obligations and support sustainable business performance.  

Your Opportunity 

This is a 12-month parental leave cover contract based in Perth.  

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and financial management of client contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met while supporting strong commercial performance and effective supplier management.  

You will provide leadership across commercial and financial workstreams, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to manage contract compliance, financial reporting, invoicing processes, risk management and governance activities. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your commercial expertise in a role that combines strategic oversight with operational execution.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage the commercial and financial performance of client contracts across the contract lifecycle. 
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost management and variance analysis activities.  
• Manage client invoicing processes and provide oversight of supplier payment activities.  
• Support supplier relationship management and end-to-end contract administration.  
• Prepare, review and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), contract variations and contractual documentation.  
• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and maintain effective tracking and reporting processes.  
• Identify, assess and manage commercial, contractual and financial risks.  
• Support commercial governance processes and ensure reporting requirements are delivered accurately and on time.  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, finance teams and senior stakeholders.  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance commercial performance and operational effectiveness.

Your Experience 

• Proven experience in commercial management, contract management, finance or a related commercial operations function.  
• Strong commercial and financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control and variance analysis.  
• Experience managing client contracts, supplier relationships and commercial obligations.  
• Strong understanding of contract management practices, including Statements of Work (SOWs), contract variations and compliance requirements.  
• Experience identifying and managing commercial, financial and contractual risks.  
• Proficiency in enterprise systems such as SAP, Sirion, ProTracker, CRM platforms and engagement risk management tools.  
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams.  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.  
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. 

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualifications would be advantageous and highly regarded.
