About this role

Logitech is the Sweet Spot for people who want their actions to have a positive global impact while having the flexibility to do it in their own way.

Job Title:  CMF Design Intern

The Team

You will be joining the Color, Material, Finish (CMF) Design team, part of Logitech’s Design, Capabilities, Sustainability & Inclusivity (DCSI) group. DCSI is a centralized, multi-disciplinary design team driving platform innovation and weaving sustainability directly into Logitech’s design identity. Operating within this broader group, our CMF team leads forward-looking circular design innovation, advanced CMF strategy, and visual identity frameworking—translating overarching sustainability ambitions into tangible, high-impact product experiences across Logitech’s portfolio.

The Role

As a CMF Design Intern you will work alongside senior designers across various design disciplines and engineering, with a dedicated focus on sustainability and material innovation. In this role, you will bridge the gap between forward-looking strategy and design execution by researching material trends, exploring circular material concepts, and translating abstract ideas into physical 3D models.
Based in our Cork office, this position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment spanning design, engineering, and sustainability teams.

Your Contribution

  • Brainstorming and concept development: Contribute to the early-stage ideation phase, injecting fresh creative perspectives and translate into highly desirable design concepts.
  • Create sketches, renderings, and prototypes: Move ideas quickly from sketches to hands-on, 3D-printed physical models. Use rapid prototyping to explore aesthetic iterations, form, and CMF elements.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions: Curate the visual mood and emotional tone of innovation projects, presenting design concepts that demonstrate visionary and innovative thinking.
  • Conduct research on materials, manufacturing processes, and market trends: Broaden the material ingredient funnel by exploring, testing, and mapping sustainable innovations (such as bio-based mono materials) to various product categories.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation for design proposals: Help build visual "proofs of concept" and design guides that show how circular materials can achieve premium aesthetics and hand-feel.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure design feasibility: Work closely with cross-functional partners to identify design opportunities early through physical modeling, ensuring ideas successfully transition from theory to application.

Work Ethic

We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates the following work ethic:

  • Proactive: Takes initiative and seeks opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Collaborative: Works effectively in a team environment and values input from others.
  • Detail-Oriented: Pays close attention to detail and strives for accuracy in all work.
  • Adaptable: Open to feedback and willing to adjust approach as needed.
  • Responsible: Takes ownership of tasks and meets deadlines.
  • Curious: Continuously seeks to learn and improve design skills and knowledge.
  • Passionate: Shows enthusiasm and passion for design.

Your  Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Design, Textile & Surface Design or any related field
  • Strong interest in sustainability frameworks and Material Innovation
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion, Creo) and digital design tools
  • Strong sketching and rendering skills
  • A keen eye for details
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Portfolio demonstrating design skills and creativity
