About the Role
 

RPMGlobal (RPM) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Customer Infrastructure Team.   

 

This position is responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining RPM customer-facing cloud infrastructure and services across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will also be required to provide technical guidance to our customers and RPM internal teams on best practices and emerging trends in cloud computing.

 

This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Brisbane CBD office. This position is in-office; however, it allows for ad hoc working from home.  


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud infrastructure (Iaas, Saas) solutions on Azure and AWS. 
  • Configure and manage Azure AWS services including Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Microsoft Entra ID, AWS EC2, ECR EKS, ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Secrets Manager, Auroa, Route 53, Fragate EventBridge, Kernal, and related cloud services. 
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.  
  • Implement and enforce security best practices.  
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal resource utilization.  
  • Automate the provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of Azure resources.  
  • Focus on automation by using Terraform, Bicep templates, Powershell, or other scripting and automation tools to streamline routine tasks and services.  
  • Mitigate potential risks and ensure uninterrupted operation of critical systems.  
  • Stay updated on emerging Azure technologies and industry trends.  
  • Perform additional tasks as needed by management to support the department and team.  


About You  

  • 4+ years’ experience in IT as a Cloud Engineer.   
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator Associate) or equivalent industry experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of networking (Fortinet & Azure) concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs etc.   
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, networking services, security principles, Virtual Networks, Firewall, Load Balancer, and VPN Gateway.  
  • Expertise in configuring and managing Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Security, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Entra etc.  
  • Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for managing containerised applications.  
  • Infrastructure as Code tools required (e.g. – Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)  
  • Implementing DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.  
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.  
  • Experience in ticket management, user support, and familiarity with ITIL framework and incident management best practices.  
  • Troubleshooting skills, communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.  
  • Strong command of the English language in both verbal and written form.  
  • Eligible to work in Australia.
