About this role
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessment and identify patient care needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in coordination with the treating team.
- Monitor and document vital signs, clinical condition and response to treatment.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections and other treatments as prescribed.
- Identify and promptly escalate changes in patient condition or clinical deterioration.
- Assist physicians and other clinical teams during examinations, procedures and emergency interventions.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as applicable.
- Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control practices.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Provide appropriate patient and family education regarding treatment, medication, procedures and discharge care.
B. Patient Safety
- Adhere to hospital policies related to patient identification, medication safety, falls prevention and infection control.
- Follow protocols for high-alert medications and other high-risk clinical procedures.
- Ensure accurate handover of patient information during shift changes.
- Report medication errors, adverse events, near misses and other safety incidents through the appropriate reporting mechanism.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
