Your function

EGI wishes to reinforce its team working on Owner's Engineering in the context of deep integration of renewable energy sources, Energy and Balancing Market Integration. To achieve this, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with strong experience in civil aspects of HV transmission projects, more specific civil related cable installation topics and onshore construction of substations/converter stations. .

You would report to the senior project engineer within the project.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):

• Define plant-specific requirements for the HVDC converter station and cable systems, especially civil engineering topics.
• Evaluate sites from a civil engineering perspective in terms of feasibility and technical challenges
• Evaluate and provide input to cable route feasibility from the civil engineering perspective (e.g. crossings, HDD, access restrictions…) 
• Control the entire technical implementation process, from drafting tender documents to awarding contracts.
• Draw up comparisons of technical and economic alternatives and doing preparatory work for cost-intensive investment decisions.

Your profile

• Diploma or master's degree in civil engineering;
• Several years of experience within infrastructure projects as a civil design & engineer, consulting engineer or project manager for a contractor, engineering/consulting company and/or employer;
• Understanding of civil engineering requirements of power infrastructure projects especially outdoor HV substation design, HVDC converter stations, , buildings, roads, trenches and crossings (HDD), steel structures, and control buildings;
• Experiences in civil works, planning, design, tendering. Experience from executing is a plus.;
• Capable to determine the work scope for green field projects;
• Experiences and capability to work in a team of engineers to execute complex transmission projects in Germany ;
• Experience in project implementation according to the HOAI;
  
• Fluent in German and English;
• Specific experience and knowledge of landfall civil works (e.g. cable landing HDD) is an asset

Location

Remote working with option to also work from the Berlin office.

Travel required to the project sites and potentially occasionally for project team meetings.
