About this role
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks.
- Reviews and recommends approval of plans submitted with permit applications for underground utility installation, construction by other governmental units, and plans for all permit paving.
- Reviews associated drainage.
- Attends numerous meetings with other Road Commission departments and various outside governmental and private agencies relative to permit activities.
- Performs field reviews of proposed construction sites for permit work.
- Reviews and processes residential driveway permit applications.
- Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
- Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
- Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
Special Experience/Education
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described above is required.
- Experience with Bluebeam and CityWorks is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
