Responsibilities
Make a difference beyond the bedside as a Charge RN at Burnett Extended Care Center, where your leadership helps drive outstanding care for patients and families. Located in downtown Fresno, Burnett Extended Care Center is a 154-bed skilled nursing facility providing both long-term and short-term skilled nursing care, as well as rehabilitative services for patients recovering from illness, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. In this pivotal role, you'll combine advanced clinical expertise with leadership skills to support care teams, coordinate patient care, and help create a safe, high-quality experience for every patient.
As the primary liaison for an assigned care area, you'll oversee patient flow, staff assignments, and daily clinical operations while collaborating with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary teams. As a trusted resource for direct care staff, you'll help ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment dedicated to supporting recovery, promoting quality of life, and delivering exceptional skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required
- 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN, or in a team leadership role required
- RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
