Position Highlights

• Specialty: Midwifery

  • Open to experienced providers or new graduates

• Position Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital – Potsdam OB/GYN Practice (Potsdam, NY) and/or Massena Women’s Health Clinic (Massena, NY)

• Schedule: 40 hours per week based on current staffing and practice hours

  • Call Requirement: Typical call includes two 12-hour days of call coverage per week at Canton-Potsdam Hospital; may also be one 24-hour day of call depending on departmental needs

• Practice Setting: Outpatient patient care with inpatient responsibilities and hospital rounding

• EMR: Epic

• Team Structure: Collaboration with St. Lawrence Region Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, APPs, and clinical support staff as well as other RRH System Physicians and providers

In addition to the base pay range, certain provider positions may be eligible for variable compensation in accordance with health system pay practices. This may include productivity and/or value-based clinical incentives, bonus compensation, or other forms of variable pay.

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

CNM - Certified Nurse-Midwife - American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), LMW - Licensed Midwife NYS - NYS Office of Professions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
