About this role

Fasanara Capital is a global alternative asset manager, offering access to a range of inventive multi-asset capacity-constrained niche products. Over the past 10 years we are pursuing unorthodox portfolio construction and unconventional investment strategy is a response to today’s transformational markets.

Fasanara Digital was established 7 years ago and is the crypto arm of Fasanara Capital, a 14 year-old boutique alternative asset manager. We are a Quantitative Investment fund applying a scientific approach to investing in crypto assets. Our goal is to achieve exceptional risk-adjusted returns. We pursue a range of diversified and highly sophisticated investment strategies that seek to profit from inefficiencies in the market structure and range from market making to cross-exchanges arbitrage.

The role

You will be in the central team for execution of orders coming from our portfolio managers, systematic strategies and treasury. Your job is to get those orders done at the best achievable price, with the lowest market impact and full control of risk, utilising our trading systems.

The desk trades across centralised crypto exchanges and OTC counterparties on one side, and listed equities, ETFs, and futures on the TradFi side. Many trades span both worlds, such as crypto basis and carry trades hedged with listed products. You will need to be as comfortable on a Binance order book as on an IB or broker algo blotter.

This is a hands-on seat. You will sit next to the traders, quants and developers who build our execution tools, and your feedback will shape them.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute orders for portfolio managers and strategies across crypto spot, perpetuals and futures, and listed equities, ETFs and future.
  • Run multi-leg and cross-asset trades, such as crypto basis, funding carry and ETF or equity hedges, keeping legs in step and residual risk small.
  • Watch automated trading and hedging bots in real time. Spot stalled hedges, rejected orders and position-limit breaches, and step in when needed.
  • Measure execution quality with transaction cost analysis (TCA): slippage against arrival, VWAP and mid, fill rates and market impact. Report it to PMs and management.
  • Keep venue knowledge current: fees, rebate and liquidity programmes, funding mechanics, listing and delisting events, and exchange rule changes.
  • Work with quants and developers to improve execution algos, smart order routing and monitoring tools. Write clear specs and test changes.
  • Handle incidents calmly: venue outages, connectivity loss, fat-finger risk and sudden volatility.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on execution or trading experience at a hedge fund, prop firm, or market maker.
  • Live experience trading crypto on centralised exchanges, including perpetual futures, and at least one TradFi asset class (equities, ETFs, futures).
  • A working understanding of market microstructure: order books, queue position, maker and taker fees, funding rates, and how market impact behaves.
  • Strong risk discipline and composure under pressure, including in fast markets and outside normal hours.
  • Practical Python and SQL: enough to pull your own fills, build post-trade fill analysis and check data without waiting for a developer.
  • Clear, concise communication with PMs, quants, developers and operations.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to basis, carry or relative-value trading across crypto and listed products.
  • Knowledge of exchange liquidity and market-maker programmes, and how fee tiers change the economics of a trade.
  • Understanding of margin models, cross-venue collateral and settlement for both crypto and TradFi.

Our benefits include:

  • Performance-related Bonus Scheme
  • Private Medical & Dental Insurance through Bupa (including children's cover)
  • Life Insurance, Income Protection & Critical Illness Cover
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Salary sacrifice pension with Hargreaves Lansdown (currently matched up to 10%)
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave
  • Emergency Parental Leave, Emergency Childcare & Nursery Benefit
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Charity Giving through CAF
  • Annual Wellbeing Budget
  • Team socials, annual Summer & Christmas parties, and other events throughout the year
