Qualifications

  • NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)Ā 
  • Ability to handle and restrain all species of animalĀ 
  • Must be able to lift 50 poundsĀ 
  • Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraintĀ Ā 
  • Must be able to work successfully as part of a teamĀ 
  • Ability to work independently and proactivelyĀ 
  • Follow detailed directions and established protocolsĀ 
  • Electronic medical record experience preferredĀ 
  • Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as neededĀ 
  • CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation assistant)

Responsibilities

  • Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupunctureĀ 
  • Assess patients on dischargeĀ 
  • Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progressĀ 
  • Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and chargesĀ 
  • Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needsĀ 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation DepartmentĀ 
  • Order and stock supplies as necessaryĀ 
  • All other related duties as assignedĀ
