Job Description

Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire a Catastrophe Claims Advisor to join our team! Reporting to the Manager, National Catastrophe Claims, you will be responsible for handling and adjusting moderate to high complex claims. The Catastrophe Claims Advisor will provide professional and respectful customer service, achieve optimal customer satisfaction, and provide guidance to Claims Assistants. and will work part of the National Catastrophe Claims team to successfully meet ACG and Claim Department performance requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Investigates, negotiates and settles claims of medium – high complexity by telephone and written correspondence
  • Interprets insurance policy wordings, determines policy coverages and reserves
  • Document claim files with notes, evaluations and decision making process
  • Ensures prompt and equitable settlement of medium- high complexity claims by following prescribed and recommended processes. Process payments within established authority levels.
  • Negotiates with insureds, claimants and insurers
  • Participate in the processes to identify, recommend and implement appropriate changes/enhancements to claim policies, practices, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives as requested by manager
  • Meet the productivity, customer service goals and quality objectives specified for National Claims and discipline
  • Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair, and easy manner. Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.
  • Participate in Queue Responsibility

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in handling medium to large loss complex residential property claims.
  • CIP Designation, or currently enrolled.
  • Experience in adjusting single peril auto claims.
  • IICRC Certification, or enrollment.
  • HAAG Certification, or enrollment.
  • Ability to review, critique, and negotiate reconstruction estimates
  • Proficient with Xactimate and Guidewire.
  • Stratum 1 Information Processing Capability.
  • The ability to handle high volume of claims – 125+/- pending.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset.

Compensation

Expected compensation for this role ranges from $ 66,200.00 - 107,150.00 annually.  Actual salary offered to successful candidates will vary based on their skills and experience.
