Join our team:

The Vancouver Breast Centre is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologist with specialized expertise in breast imaging to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. This position requires a deep understanding of breast pathology, exceptional interpretive skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Location: Suite 505 - 750 West Broadway, Vancouver BC Canada, V5Z 1H4

Hours: Contract (32-40 hrs/week)

Hybrid Role: Minimum 2-3 days/week in-office with remote flexibility for other days, and optional evening/weekend shifts

Compensation: In-clinic services provided by the Radiologist are paid at 100% for Breast imaging, while remote services are paid at an 80/20% fee split, based on professional fee codes published by Doctors of B.C.

What you'll do in this role:

• The Breast Imaging Radiologist will provide specialized expertise in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases
• Supervise and interpret a wide range of breast imaging studies, including: diagnostic mammography (2D and 3D/tomosynthesis) & breast ultrasound
• Deliver timely and accurate diagnostic reports, ensuring clear communication of findings to referring physicians and patients
• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, medical imaging technologists, and ultrasound technologists to optimize imaging protocols, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care
• Actively participate in and support quality assurance programs, peer review, and accreditation processes to uphold the highest standards of care, in compliance with Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR MAP) and Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) requirements
• Provide expert guidance and support to technologists on breast imaging protocols, best practices, and adherence to quality and safety standards
• Maintain current knowledge of advancements in breast imaging technology and clinical guidelines relevant to Canadian healthcare
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, workflow efficiency, and clinical outcomes

You're the missing piece of the puzzle:

• Seasoned radiologist with 10 years’ experience & five years of breast imaging experience
• You thrive in an interdisciplinary team-based environment with the proven ability to collaborate and support others to achieve excellence in the goals of our team and our customers.
• You are a proven strategic thinker and foster collaboration, innovation and creativity in every aspect of your work
• You are an excellent problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
• Radiologist practices medicine in British Columbia and holds a valid Certificate of Registration with the College.
• Medical liability insurance coverage through Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
• You are comfortable with using an EMR, PACS and radiology information systems (RIS), and workplace technology

Great-to-haves:

• Experience in ultrasound guided breast interventional procedures would be considered an asset

Foreign Trained Physician Requirements:

• US-trained specialists are exempt from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons eligibility requirements (US Board Certified Physicians are eligible for an independent license in British Columbia) through Pathway A
• Internationally trained candidates who pass the subspecialty exam being launched by CPSB (College of Physicians and surgeons of British Columbia) will be considered through the Exam Eligible Route
