Responsibilities

The Cardiac Device Coordinator is an expert in the field of Cardiac Rhythm management. This position is responsible for ensuring quality service delivery to Implantable Cardiovert Defibrillators (ICD), implantable loop recorder (ILR), and Pacemaker patients for the Northside Hospital System. Advanced clinical knowledge in dealing with patients with implanted devices is required. The Cardiac Device Coordinator is responsible for staff scheduling, staff competency, proper billing and managing daily operations within all Device Clinics. The Cardiac Device Coordinator will assist with Cardiac Device research, policy development, and validating that equipment is properly maintained.

The Coordinator of Device Clinic Services oversees the clinical practice and patient care delivery, as well as has 24-hour accountability, and responsibility of the operations of assigned units. Duties include management of human, fiscal and material resources and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and regulations. 

Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications:Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Certified cardiac device specialist CCDS certification by International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners IBHRE required.
  • Minimum Experience:Five years’ experience with cardiac devices or combination of appropriate clinical license or certificate from an accredited program and experience to demonstrate competency.
  • BLS Certification Required.
  •  Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Specific knowledge of cardiac devices including pacemakers, loop recorders, and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator ICD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership or prior management skills
  • Work Hours:

    8AM - 4PM
