The Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the cafeteria by ensuring food service areas are clean, organized, and well stocked. Key duties include serving food and beverages, replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, clearing and cleaning tables, washing utensils and equipment as required, and providing courteous customer service to guests and employees. The role also assists with general cafeteria operations and may perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the department.
- Wipe down tables and seats when clearing tables with a clean, damp cloth soaked in sanitizer solution to ensure staff always sit at a clean table
- Scrape and pre-rinse dirty dishes, properly arranging them in the correct section of the dish pit area.
- Set tables with clean condiments, linens and other items as needed according to EDR standards.
- Set up water/coffee station, as well as organize condiments station
- Clean and stock supplies throughout dining room as necessary during your shift
- Transport hot and cold meals at their correct temperature to set food buffet lines for breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts.
- Perform janitorial duties as needed when time permits, such as cleaning workstations, emptying the trash, mopping and sweeping during your shifts.
- Greet internal guests (staff) and ensure they have what they need for a pleasurable dining experience.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WEβRE SEEKING:
- High School diploma required
- Must speak and write English clearly and fluently
- Able to lift/push/carry 25+ pounds on a regular basis
- 1+ years' experience in Food & Beverage industry
- Basic training in food preparation and service
- Basic knowledge of safe food handling and preparation techniques
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
- Knowledge of how to use dishwashing machines
- Willingness to be a team player
- Able to deal with difficult customers and diffuse situations
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
