About Alma

Alma is building the next-generation immigration platform that combines world-class legal services with a modern software layer to make hiring and sponsoring global talent simple, predictable, and compliant.

We work with founders, startups, and growing companies who need a faster, more transparent alternative to traditional law firms and fragmented immigration vendors. Our platform centralizes case management, compliance tracking, employee experience, and legal execution, so companies can focus on growth, not paperwork.

We are backed by top investors and are scaling our Mid Market team to serve growing and enterprise organizations with increasingly complex hiring and immigration needs.

The Role

As a Business Development Representative on our Mid Market team, you will generate pipeline for our Account Executives by getting in front of decision makers on People teams at Mid Market and Enterprise companies. This is a field based role: you will visit company offices, attend industry events, and find creative ways to get Alma in front of the right people.

You will work closely with your AE to plan territory coverage, prioritize target accounts, and build your daily schedule together. This is a great way to start a career in sales, with a clear path to becoming an Account Executive.

What You'll Do

  • Generate qualified pipeline for your Mid Market Account Executive

  • Identify and engage decision makers on People teams, such as CPOs, VPs of People, Heads of HR, and People Ops leaders, at target accounts

  • Visit company offices and use creative, in-person approaches to get in front of the right people

  • Represent Alma at industry events, conferences, and meetups to build relationships and pipeline

  • Plan your daily schedule and territory coverage in collaboration with your AE

  • Qualify prospects on hiring plans, visa needs, and urgency before handing off to your AE

  • Follow up with your leads via multiple channels such as LinkedIn, cold calls, and email

  • Keep CRM activity, notes, and pipeline data accurate and up to date

  • Partner closely with your AE throughout the sales cycle to ensure smooth handoffs and coordinated outreach

  • Test and share new approaches for getting in front of decision makers

Who We're Looking For

  • Highly organized, with the discipline to manage a busy schedule and a growing pipeline

  • Highly outgoing and comfortable approaching and engaging senior decision makers in-person

  • Genuinely excited about Alma and able to communicate that enthusiasm clearly and confidently

  • Persistent, staying motivated through rejection and repeated outreach

  • A clear, confident communicator who can hold their own with HR and People leaders

  • You’re comfortable building relationships on the phone and in-person

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • Willingness to learn and determination to build a career in sales while promoting the Alma brand

  • Comfortable with an active, field based role that includes regular travel to company offices and events

Nice to Have

  • Prior sales, business development, or customer facing experience

  • Experience engaging with People teams, HR leaders, or enterprise decision makers

  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce

  • Exposure to immigration, legal services, or HR tech

What Success Looks Like (First 3 to 6 Months)

  • Consistently hitting or exceeding pipeline and meeting generation targets

  • Building a strong working relationship with your AE and a repeatable approach to territory coverage

  • Strong conversion from meetings to qualified opportunities

  • Becoming a trusted, recognizable point of contact for Alma with target accounts

  • A track record that supports promotion into an Account Executive role
