The Business Analyst (Enterprise Systems & Reporting) partners with business stakeholders and technology teams to improve business processes, optimize reporting, and ensure information is delivered accurately across enterprise systems. This role focuses on understanding how the business operates, documenting requirements, supporting system enhancements, and helping ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time.


While technical knowledge is valuable, this is not a highly technical engineering or database administration role. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, reports, and enterprise applications while serving as a trusted partner to both business users and IT.


This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of Arctiq's clients. A candidate must be comfortable working hybrid based in their Alexandria, VA office.


Key Responsibilities


Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational processes, business challenges, and reporting needs. 
  • Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements for system enhancements and new initiatives. 
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and data quality. 
  • Facilitate discussions between business and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives. 
  • Document workflows, business rules, and process improvements. 


Reporting 

  • Analyze existing reports and dashboards to understand how they were built and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Reverse engineer legacy reports and collaborate with technical teams to simplify, modernize, or optimize reporting solutions. 
  • Validate report accuracy and ensure business users receive meaningful, actionable information. 
  • Assist stakeholders in defining reporting requirements, KPIs, and success metrics
  • Support the development of dashboards and operational reporting using existing BI tools. 


Enterprise Systems Support

  • Work across CRM, AMS, ERP, and other enterprise applications to understand how business information flows between systems. 
  • Help ensure business data is entered, maintained, and utilized consistently across platforms. 
  • Collaborate with application owners and technical teams to investigate data discrepancies and recommend process improvements. 
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and enhancement projects from a business perspective. 
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate solutions against business requirements. 


Data Analysis & Decision Support

  • Use SQL or other query tools to investigate business questions and validate data when needed. 
  • Analyze business data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for operational improvement. 
  • Work with technical teams to ensure reports and integrations support business needs. 
  • Support data validation efforts without being responsible for database administration or technical development. 


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with business users, application owners, vendors, and IT teams. 
  • Translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and communicate business needs to technical teams. 
  • Contribute to documentation, training materials, and process guides. 
  • Promote collaboration and consensus across multiple departments. 


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role supporting enterprise business applications. 
  • Proven experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements. 
  • Strong ability to analyze current-state business processes and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and data accuracy. 
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, workshops, and requirements-gathering meetings. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria. 
  • Experience supporting software implementations, system enhancements, or digital transformation initiatives through the full project lifecycle. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business processes and identify practical solutions. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while managing changing business priorities and deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. 


Working Conditions:


  • Full-time onsite role with onsite and remote collaboration.
  • Occasional travel may be required for key partner engagements, pilots, or major program milestones.
  • Regular coordination across multiple time zones with internal teams and external partners as needed.
