Belonging Specialist

The pay range for this position is listed below. Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

What You’ll Be Doing
Provides foundational support for SchoolsFirst FCU's belonging, equity, accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and InterCulture (BEADIIC) engagement initiatives. Assists with coordinating programs, communications, training resources, data collection and administrative activities that advance the organization's DEI strategy, culture, and teammember experience.
  • Supports partnerships with stakeholders throughout the credit union by coordinating information, resources, and follow-up activities that align the Organization’s DEI Promise and practices with SchoolsFirst’s mission, values, and HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists with preparing, updating, and distributing reports, presentations, surveys, and other materials that support SchoolsFirst FCU's BEADIIC programs and services.
  • Supports DEI education efforts by coordinating workshops, training, tools, and resources that build awareness of key initiatives and their connection to the business.
  • Collaborates with Internal Communications to draft, edit, and organize DEI materials, including newsletters, articles, research summaries, and other written or presentation content.
  • Collects, validates, and maintains data used for diversity metrics, dashboards, and recurring reports. Assists with identifying basic trends and documenting program participation and outcomes.
  • Uses established methods to summarize metrics, research, and trends; highlights observations and supports the development of action steps and program improvements.
  • Identifies routine opportunities to improve or streamline team processes and shares observations with senior teammembers. Provides responsive support to business units on established DEI resources and activities.
  • Coordinates the organization-wide distribution of approved DEI-related content, cultural resources, and celebration materials using established communication channels and schedules.
  • Conducts research and organizes information to support the review of policies and practices, including hiring, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, professional development, performance evaluation, compensation, and discipline.
  • Maintains current knowledge of diversity-related topics, legislation, and best practices through research, training, conferences, task forces, and professional affiliations. Shares relevant information with the team to support internal DEI programs and resources.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 1-3 years of prior relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Organizational and time management skills to coordinate multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and follow established budgets and processes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and basic copy editing
  • Builds trust and works collaboratively with team members and business partners across the organization
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple assignments, seek guidance when needed, and complete work with accuracy and follow-through
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout California and other locations
