Are you a relationship-driven insurance professional with a passion for evaluating complex risks and growing profitable business? We're seeking an AVP, Excess Casualty Binding Authority Broker, to play a key role in expanding and managing a high-performing Excess Casualty portfolio while building strong partnerships across the wholesale broker community.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and grow a profitable Excess Casualty portfolio through a network of wholesale broker partners.
  • Evaluate new and renewal business opportunities by analyzing financial information, loss history, exposure data, and other risk-related factors.
  • Determine account suitability and establish appropriate pricing, coverage structures, terms, and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, customers, and internal business partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and create strategies to expand market presence while maintaining portfolio quality.
  • Apply sound risk selection and pricing discipline to achieve profitable growth objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and emerging exposures to support effective decision-making.
  • Deliver responsive service and creative solutions that strengthen broker relationships and enhance the customer experience.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional excellence.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in Excess Casualty, specialty casualty, binding authority, E&S, or related commercial insurance lines.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing and growing a profitable portfolio of business.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex accounts and make informed coverage and pricing decisions.
  • Established relationships within the wholesale brokerage marketplace are highly valued.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 + years of experience in excess casualty
  • Excess casualty professional with strong go-to relationships within the wholesale brokerage channel.
  • Deep understanding of the market and a history of strong industry relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and possess the ability to make independent judgments.
  • Must be a team player, willing and eager to learn, organized, detailed and flexible.
  • Unwavering demonstration of integrity, respect and professionalism.
  • Position requires occasional travel, including overnight trips.

Base Salary Range: $ 135,000 – 185,000 The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program. Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans.
