Overview

Group 1 Automotive is actively hiring Lube Technicians for our Tulsa-area dealerships, including South Pointe Honda, South Pointe Chevrolet, South Pointe Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and BMW of Tulsa.

As a Lube Technician, you'll play a critical role in keeping customer vehicles safe, reliable, and performing at their best. You'll work alongside experienced technicians in a fast-paced dealership environment while learning the foundations of automotive maintenance, inspections, and repair.

 

We're looking for dependable, motivated individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to grow. This position offers a clear pathway to advancement, including opportunities to become a Certified Technician or Main Line Technician.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid exchanges, and filter replacements while meeting dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Complete comprehensive digital multi-point inspections to identify maintenance needs and help ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Inspect critical vehicle components including tires, brakes, batteries, filters, fluids, suspension components, and other key systems.
  • Create photo and video inspection reports that provide customers with a transparent view of their vehicle's condition and recommended services.
  • Accurately document inspection findings, maintenance recommendations, and completed services using dealership technology and digital reporting tools.
  • Handle customer vehicles with care and professionalism while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that supports productivity and teamwork.
  • Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer guidelines, and service department procedures.
  • Promptly report damaged tools, equipment issues, or safety concerns to management.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset while supporting dealership goals and company values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license.    
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems (engine, brakes, tires, fluids)
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance services, including:
  • Oil and filter changes
  • Tire rotation and pressure checks
  • Fluid checks and top‑offs (transmission, coolant, brake, power steering)
  • Battery testing and replacement
  • Visual inspections of belts, hoses, and filters
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow manufacturer and shop service procedures

 

In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:
  • Hourly Pay Range: $16.00–$17.00 per hour
  • Pay Type: Non‑exempt, hourly position
  • Compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications 
  • Overtime: Paid in accordance with federal and state law for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
