Job Description Summary:
What you will do for us
- Design, develop, test, and maintain manufacturing and automation software applications using C# and .NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core).
- Build backend services, APIs, and integrations connecting shopfloor systems (PLCs, SCADA, Batch) with enterprise applications and databases.
- Develop operator and engineering interfaces using Vue.js and the Ignition platform.
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server databases, writing efficient queries, and designing data models.
- Implement data access using Entity Framework and Dapper.
- Integrate applications with industrial devices and external vendor systems.
- Support and enhance manufacturing platforms including FactoryTalk Batch, SCADA, HMI, and PLC data collection systems.
- Participate in digital manufacturing and “Plant of the Future” initiatives.
- Manage source control and CI/CD workflows using GitLab.
- Apply DevOps and containerization practices; support deployments in modern environments (including Kubernetes where applicable).
- Troubleshoot performance issues, bottlenecks, and system faults in production environments.
- Ensure robust validation, testing, and documentation of automation software solutions.
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience is essential in programming systems support
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Well-structured methodical approach to work
- Good judgement and decision-making skills
- Strategic in approach
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Experience developing applications in C# using .NET Framework and/or .NET Core/.NET.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server (querying, schema design, performance).
- Experience with Entity Framework and/or Dapper ORM/data access.
- Experience developing web or UI applications using Vue.js (or similar frameworks).
- Experience with Git-based source control (GitLab or similar).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture.
- Experience integrating software with external systems, APIs, or industrial devices.
- Experience with industrial manufacturing software for example Batch, SCADA, HMI PLCs or similar an advantage
- Experience with the Ignition industrial platform is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience of delivering projects in a complex systems environment
- Ability to work independently in a manufacturing or production-critical environment.
